Dr. Simeons, the creator of the HCG diet, understood that if he combined the HCG hormone with specific foods at designated phases, the body would lose weight. With this in mind, phase 1 was developed, which is known as the loading part of the diet. This is where fat stores are replenished from yo-yo dieting.
