Are Hormones Involved During the HCG Weight Loss Diet?

Yes, the human chorionic gonadotrophin (HCG) hormone that is naturally produced during pregnancy is part of the HCG diet.  The pituitary glands for both men and women produce HCG.  The benefits of the HCG hormone to dieters are similar to what it does during pregnancy.  HCG during pregnancy regulates the mother’s metabolism.  For the dieter, HCG stimulates the metabolism.  This in turn is a catalyst for the hypothalamus to begin burning fat for energy and moving fat from hard to lose places such as the buttocks, hips, and thighs.  There is an additional 2000-3000 additional calories released into the body’s system to provide nutrition.

Dr. Simeons, the creator of the HCG diet, understood that if he combined the HCG hormone with specific foods at designated phases, the body would lose weight.  With this in mind, phase 1 was developed, which is known as the loading part of the diet.  This is where fat stores are replenished from yo-yo dieting.  In phase 2, there is the very low 500 calorie diet.  The body is detoxified.  It is rid of fatty fried and unhealthy foods, along with smoking and alcohol.  Most dieters are not drinking soda.  As an added bonus, dieters are learning how to create and prepare healthy meals at appropriate portion sizes.

In phase 3, the body stabilizes at a natural weight and the hypothalamus is reset.
By the end of the HCG diet, the HCG hormone has worked with the healthy foods to get the dieter body burning fat appropriately.  After phase 3, the dieter is able to maintain their weight in a healthy manner.  Some dieters decide to use the HCG diet in another round to further lose weight.  When HCG is taken sublingually, dieters are in no danger of becoming immune to HCG.  They can take the HCG hormone for as many rounds as they need to make their weight loss goals.  The HCG hormone is a valuable part of the HCG diet.
